The Romanian traditional dress from Dobrogea/Dobrujia

It's been a long time since I started this journey in 2015 of embroidering a traditional blouse while working on the project Sezatoare Constanta. I ended up making the whole costume, adding the apron and the skirt and the fez.
I can definitely say it's done, complete and that it can be considered what I wanted from the very beginning it to be, a traditional Romanian costume from the region of Constanta, Dobrogea.
the photos are taken by the talented Daniela Gough.

This type of traditional dress had stopped being in fashion at the beginning of the XXth century and it can only be found in museums, as there are no more villages that use it for special occasion as they were intended to be, more than a hundred years ago.

For those that see the resemblance with the Bulgarian dress from the region, the common element is the apron (pestelca)

Thank you so much for sharing. It is beautiful . Can you please add a picture with “cheite”? I know they are very specific for Dobrogea and i would like to see them. I am looking for something like this for a long time ( months ). Thanks!
